Omarosa Newman Claims Donald Trump Is Not Racist — Just ‘Racial’ — As She Talks About Lonely Life In White House Staff

While there has been no shortage of jokes about President Donald Trump’s ability to work with foreigners and his awkward attitude in such situations, recent statements by Omarosa Manigault Newman may indicate that this might not be too far from the truth.

Omarosa, who recently resigned from her position in the White House, claims that her work in the Trump administration has made her feel lonely and isolated.

She went on to confirm that Trump does indeed behave awkwardly in interactions with minorities, and he was visibly not used to working with people of a different skin color.

According to Omarosa, this is just a symptom of a more significant problem in the White House — a severe lack of diversity.

At the same time, the former reality TV star insisted that she does not view Trump himself as racist, implying that the situation is more nuanced and the whole staff has to find a way to do better.

Omarosa did not deny the occasionally insensitive nature of remarks made by Trump in the last few months but did not agree that these comments made him racist in any way.

In an interview with ABC’s Nightline, the former aide shared: “The things that he says, the types of pushback that he gives, involve people of color. These are racial exchanges. Yes, I will acknowledge many of the exchanges — particularly in the last six months — have been racially charged. Do we then just stop and label him as a racist? No.”

Reports indicate that Trump had been fond of Omarosa during her stay in the White House, which could explain her attitude towards him.

It is entirely possible that the president was more relaxed towards her when it came to his racially charged attitude, and she was therefore not exposed to this side of his personality in a private context because they have known each other for a very long time.

Trump himself does not hide his positive attitude towards the former White House employee, but he has not gone into too many details on that front.
