Angelina Jolie Is Losing Sleep Over Maddox Being Away In College, Local Police Address Her Concerns

After Angelina Jolie sent off her oldest son Maddox Jolie-Pitt to college in South Korea, she has reportedly been feeling uneasy about her situation and suffering from the empty nest syndrome.

There were recent hints that the actress might be looking to adopt again to fill the void left by her son, but it seems like her distress over his departure might be more serious than most people suspected.

Recent reports indicate that Jolie has been worried for the well-being of her son because this is the first time in his life that he was able to walk around unsupervised and not surrounded by a massive security detail.

And while it is normal for a celebrity to worry over their child like that, many have pointed out that Jolie should calm down and let Maddox experience life as a young adult on his own.

Otherwise, the boy is going to grow up with some wrong impressions about the way the world is supposed to work.

Local authorities have commented on the situation, noting that relatives of celebrities do not get any special treatment during their stay in the country, and their safety is their concern.

A spokeswoman for Incheon police said: “We are aware Maddox is studying at Yonsei’s international campus, but we are not aware of any special plan for his protection.”

It also sounded like the local police were not even aware that the son of Jolie and Brad Pitt was in town for his studies, though judging by their response, they might not have acted any differently even if they knew.

A source told Hollywood Life that Jolie is doing all she can to give her son some space: “[Angelina] has vowed not to interfere in his relationship with Brad. She respects that they have their relationship and is staying out of it.”

The person added: “Angelina would prefer not to make a big scene at Maddox’s new school, but that won’t keep her from visiting. She has already been there with him for the start of the semester, and they had no problems, so she isn’t worried about going back. But she is letting Maddox call the shots as far as how often and when she visits.”

Hopefully, Maddox will blend in with his peers during his stay in South Korea and have a great college experience.
