Rachel Maddow Chokes Up Talking About Migrant Children — Tucker Carlson Calls It Fake Crying And Propaganda

Rachel Maddow Crying Tucker Carlson

The host of The Rachel Maddow Show was overwhelmed with tears while she was trying to present the latest bits of information about President Donald Trump’s policies against undocumented immigrants trying to cross the southern border with Mexico.

During the show’s episode on Tuesday, Rachel Maddow was brought to tears as she was reading descriptions of children of a very young age being taken away from their parents at the US-Mexico border.

Apparently, three new shelters were set up to house the youngest ones among kids whose parents had been detained at the border.

According to an Associated Press report, some of the children who were forcibly separated from their mothers and fathers were still toddlers and babies.

The emotional political commentator made an effort to finish the report she was presenting, but after she could not, she passed it to her colleague Lawrence O’Donnell, host of MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.

When Maddow was first given the papers containing the news about the Trump zero-tolerance policy, she exclaimed disbelievingly.

However, after reading the first few sentences of the report, the host’s eyes quickly filled with tears.

Maddow tried to keep her professional attitude and avoided being seen crying in front of the camera, as she requested a graphic or a diagram to be put on screen, but none was suitable for the moment. The hostess then tried once more to finish the presentation but failed again.

Afterward, the presenter apologized to viewers on social media. Maddow also shared the report she was supposed to read on air on Twitter.

She explained that even though it was her job to appear in front of the camera and speak in a professional manner, at that moment, she could not say or do anything.

The moment went viral, and left-leaning voices quickly embrace it as it was efficient to convey their message.

However, Tucker Carlson, form the Fox News Channel and used to work on MSNBC, called it “propaganda.”
