Adriana Lima is facing some life-changing choices as she decides to raise the bar when it comes to doing her job.
It seems that one of the most famous Victoria’s Secret Angels has decided to reserve the amount of flesh she is showing only to modeling gigs that are representing worthy causes.
The 36-year-old model expressed her position regarding the pressure linked to women’s looks in a lengthy note on her Instagram page.
The catalyst for this sudden change was a friend of Adriana’s, who was not satisfied with her own body.
This got the model thinking that she spent too much of her time taking care of her appearance.
She stated: “I thought that’s not a way of living and beyond that…that’s not physically and mentally healthy, so I decided to make that change…I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause…”
The famous beauty is tired of following the impossible standards that are imposed by the media and society nowadays.
Lima announced her decision to stop putting her body on display for “empty causes” in the future, although she did not bother to specify what she classifies as an empty cause directly.
It did not take long for the message to receive reactions from fans.
A vast majority of her followers expressed their support towards Lima’s decision, while others were questioning what exactly her words mean for the future of her career.
The Brazilian beauty even hinted that she might be leaving the famous lingerie brand for which she has been working since 1999. Up to this date, Lima has walked in 18 Victoria’s Secret Fashion shows and this year, she was also given the title of “the most valuable Victoria’s Secret Angel.”
Lima has expressed the desire to work for the brand until her 20th fashion show there, but admitted that her age is also a factor in her decision.
