Donald Trump Goes On The Offense Over Steve Bannon’s Quotes From Michael Wolff’s Book

Steve Bannon recently commented on a Trump Tower meeting in a very unfavorable way, implying that people close to the U.S. president like his son Donald Trump Jr. were going behind the nation’s back and acting against his own people’s interests.

Also, while some expected this to be swept under the rug as yet another comment in a similar line, it seems like Donald Trump himself does not take lightly to being called unpatriotic.

The 45th U.S. president has reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to his former aide Bannon, ordering him to stop making further similar statements and threatening with a lawsuit.

This is despite the fact that Bannon actually made some positive remarks about Trump recently, claiming that he sees him as a great man and someone who he supports without hesitation.

The new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, by Michael Wolff has already generated a lot of controversy, and it is clear that it is going to leave an impressive mark on the current administration, but just how far the damage will go is hard to tell.

Trump himself does not seem that fazed by the actual book, publicly, but it is a bit unusual for the president of the most powerful country on Earth to attack someone so directly because of their public claims, but there might be something else behind the scenes that we are not aware of.

In any case, we expect Bannon to comply with the cease and desist order and to refrain from making any further comments, although we cannot say we are sure about Wolff, who seems quite invested in his book already. All in all, the situation is shaping up in a very interesting way.

The controversial journalist used the president’s reaction as a promotional tool and has announced that the book will be available four days before its original release date.
