50 Cent Addresses ‘Power’ Theme Song Backlash — Joe Replaced By Trey Songz — After Debuting Girlfriend Jamira Haines

Power premiered on Sunday and fans had mixed reactions on different levels. Many top characters have exited the Starz series, and supporters are not convinced that this last season will be able to deliver the goods in terms of drama.

However, what got the most attention is the fact that the theme song of Power was changed. Legendary R&B singer Joe was replaced by Trey Songz.

The “Big Town” remix, which still features Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, did not sit well with many fans, and they want the old Power theme song back.

One supporter of the series stated: “Don’t nobody want to hear Trey yodeling on the Power intro… bring Joe back 🗣.”

Another commenter continued with: “Joe’s version just hits DIFFERENT when it comes on, makes you feel like you out on the block slanging rocks and busting shots 🤣😂 #BringBackJoe.”

A third person added: “We don’t care WE DONT LIKE IT. We can tell it was a favor by the way he has sung the song so dry 🙄.”

These comments came after 50 Cent, who is also an executive producer on the show, said that he has heard of the backlash and he might be willing to bring back Joe’s version.

50 Cent had a busy week. While there have been some rumors about a possible new relationship between the rapper/actor and an unknown girl, there were no official reports on that front until recently, when he decided to officially introduce model Jamira Haines as his partner to the world.

The two stepped out on the red carpet at the premiere of Power, and immediately drew lots of positive comments, with many of 50 Cent’s fans exclaiming how happy they were for the rapper.

Haines is not an unknown figure in the public space, and she is known for being in a past relationship with rapper Omelly. She is quite prominent in her circles and seems to be aiming for a career in corporate law.

Observers have already seen some fantastic shots of the two together at the show premiere’s backstage, and Haines seemed to be quite happy to sing along her boyfriend while he was delivering some of his best hits.

The woman took to Instagram to reassure all of 50 Cent’s fans that things between them were genuine, even though some have been trying to accuse them of faking their relationship.

Some comments were aimed at Haines in particular, as it looks like she still has to earn the trust of the G-Unit records’ founder’s fan base.

However, in the end, the rapper has made it clear in the past that he knows how to live his life, and knows exactly what he wants out of it.

With that in mind, his fans should enjoy the show and not try to intervene.
