Jon Paul Steuer Has Committed Suicide — ‘Star Trek’ Actor’s Cause Of Death Revealed

The cause death of actor and singer Jon Paul Steuer has been determined to be a suicide.

According to a report issued by authorities in Oregon, the 33-year-old star, also known as Jonny P Jewels, took his life by shooting himself with a gun on New Year’s Day in Portland.

Steuer became famous for his role as Alexander Rozhenko in The Next Generation saga of the Star Trek series. He also starred as Quentin Kelly in the TV series Grace Under Fire that aired in the ’90s for three years but got canceled afterward.

Since then, Steuer decided to quit acting and do something else for a living. The news of the celebrity’s unexpected death was delivered to the world by his fellow musicians, with whom they formed the group P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S.

After Steuer’s music career was over, he underwent a total career transformation and decided to try his hand at being a restaurateur. Following his decision, he opened the vegan restaurant “Harvest at the Bindery” with the cooperation of chef Sean Sigmon in Portland. However, the place has closed down since the passing of the Star Trek actor.

Steuer’s bandmates posted an official tribute early in January, confirming that their friend and colleague was gone. They explained that even though the actor was with them for only a year, his participation would always be remembered as they became close friends at the time.

The statement read in part, “It is with heavy hearts and saddened minds that we announce the passing of our dear friend and singer Jonny Jewels, AKA Jon Paul Steuer. The addition of Jonny to our dysfunctional band family was one of the best choices that we have ever made, and he brought a much needed sense of fun and lightheartedness to everything we did.”

The band’s announcement prompted thousands of fans to write condolences and tributes for the deceased star.
