After Getting Targeted By Hate, ‘Black Panther’ Cast Takes The High Road

Marvel’s next movie Black Panther is going to premiere on the 16th of February and its arrival has been causing a lot of buzz on the Internet.

While many people are eagerly waiting for the movie to come out, Black Panther surprisingly has attracted a significant number of opponents.

With the premiere of the blockbuster film coming soon, a group has been formed trying to spoil the movie’s popularity by giving it only negative reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

The reason, according to the group, is Disney’s recent treatment of their popular franchises, as well as alleged meddling with the press to undermine the popularity of competitors.

A Facebook event with the name “Bring Down Disney” was created for the period of 15-24th February and the host has stated, “Down with Disney’s Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys.”

The group had the goal to prompt as many people as possible to give bad scores to Black Panther on Rotten Tomatoes.

It remains unknown how many took part in the campaign before Facebook canceled the event. According to some reports, the count reached 3,700 people.

A spokesman from the social networking platform stated it was common for people to use Facebook for discussing and sharing different ideas.

However, the attack against Black Panther was seen as bullying and hate, so the removal of the event followed without further consideration.

The website, Rotten Tomatoes, also issued a statement about the incident. Their representative said that security of the platform is being taken seriously and such negative activities would not be tolerated.

Despite the fact that Black Panther faced some negative reactions, it is still awaited by many fans. The film is already on its way to become the Marvel’s blockbuster with the greatest number of pre-sale tickets.

The movie is said to have a social angle to it due to its compelling cast.
