Matt Lauer Knew His Time Was Up At The ‘TODAY’ Show Around Thanksgiving Day Parade

Matt Lauer TODAY Show Exit

About a month and a half, after the Harvey Weinstein scandal was at its peak, some serious allegations about former NBC anchor Matt Lauer came to the surface.

Apparently, the controversial television star had a feeling something was going on as he was overheard explaining that he expected the Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2017 to be his last.

His inner instincts turned out to be true as the ex-TODAY show co-host was fired just six days after he shared his alarming thoughts with a colleague on the morning show.

NBC dismissed their highest-paid anchor on account of allegations of sexual harassment made against him by a co-worker.

The 60-year-old has been a co-host of the TODAY show since 1997, which makes him one of the anchors with the lengthiest careers on morning television.

According to NBC, the reason behind the dismissal of Lauer dates back to 2014, when Lauer had an affair with another network employee.

The alleged victim told the whole story of the infidelity just after Thanksgiving. The fling started while Matt was covering the Olympic Games in Sochi, 2014 but the relationship went on for some time after they returned back to New York.

The accuser’s very young age leaves no doubt that this was a case of power exertion over a junior. The woman also granted undeniable proof to back up her story — a photograph of a naked Lauer.

However, it does not end here, as according to the victim, she is not the only one who has suffered sexual misconduct from Lauer, and there are others like her.

At first, Mr. Lauer was very defensive but finally admitted to having had three affairs during the course of the 25 years he spent working at TODAY.

Lauer is reportedly hoping to return to television in the near future, but critics doubt that the task will be easy.
