Neil Diamond Is Retiring From Touring — Parkinson’s Disease Diagnosis Led To Announcement

Neil Diamond Retiring From Touring

Neil Diamond has confirmed that he has no plans to do more tours and he is retiring, mostly due to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately for his fans, this also includes the end of his Diamond’s 50th Anniversary Tour, as the final segment of the concert series has been officially canceled.

Still, this is not the end of Diamond’s career as a whole, as he has shared his intention to keep making songs. He is one of the more dedicated artists and has been in his field for quite a while, and it is certainly good to see that he has the spirit to keep moving forward.

Diamond, 77, also sounded quite disappointed at the fact that he had to cancel the last part of his tour and seek retirement, but in the end, this is probably better for everyone around, his fans included. After all, it would be much sadder to see him fading away quickly due to being overworked, and not getting a chance to continue working on his music in the future.

He also thanked his supporters for all the encouragement they have shown over the years and sounded hopeful that he would continue to get this kind of love in the next years. Knowing Diamond and the way people absolutely adore him, we would not be surprised if the number of his fans actually goes up in the near future instead of declining. He is one of those old gems that are always worth discovering, no matter what generation one comes from, and what their taste in music is.

The legendary artist shared in a statement: “I plan to remain active in writing, recording and other projects for a long time to come.”

Fans of the “I Am … I Said” singer have taken to social media to express their sadness and to encourage him to keep fighting.
