As allegations about U.S. President Donald Trump’s past keep piling up, some particularly embarrassing stories have started to come out. A recent one claims that the president was forced to pay a porn star known as Stormy Daniels $130,000 for her silence after an incident took place during an encounter between the two.
While details about the alleged encounter are unclear and distorted by speculation, it seems like Trump did not misbehave while in private with the adult star and if something occurred, it was consensual. The rumors contain one funny angle though, at one point, he was even chasing her around in his underwear.
Trump has denied the accusations continuously. Some have pointed out that this is actually a bit odd for the president, who usually tries to avoid engaging in any controversial discussions and simply steers clear of those talks. Right now, he has been quite determined in denying the allegations.
The porn star in question, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, revealed the incident to a friend of hers several years ago. However, the payment was only made in 2016, in the late part of the election campaign. The apparent speculation, in this case, is that it was simply a part of the campaign and a regular expense for Trump’s campaign managers at that point. Some have even speculated that Trump might not even have been aware of the payment, although that is debatable.
Moreover to be fair, judging by allegations from the president’s past, he would have probably attempted to stop the payment from going out in the first place, so it is actually not very clear if he was on board with that decision from the beginning or not.
Trump’s attorney, Michael Cohen, denied the whole thing although the report from the Wall Street Journal suggested that he was a key player.
