To nobody’s real surprise, President Donald Trump is once again in the news in a rather unique context. The former reality TV star took to Twitter on Saturday to defend his mental state after a controversial book painted his administration in a very bad light.

The question of Trump’s mental fitness started to gain steam a few weeks ago after a speech.
Mr. Trump delivered a speech on Israel, and while the event went mostly without incident, towards the end of his presentation, the president started to noticeably slur his words, completely out of character for him.
As can be expected, it did not take long for the incident to spread around the Internet, and many people had started to speculate on what could have happened, and why Trump sounded so odd during the speech.
The most prominent theory at the time was that he was wearing dentures or something else in his mouth, and this was something that had been picked up and repeated over and over, to the point where it had become a small meme.
Some went as far as to explain why exactly Trump’s alleged dentures would cause him to slur like that, and while it was, of course, impossible to confirm nor deny these rumors, it was definitely interesting to follow the developments around Trump’s speech and all the speculation about his slurring.
On Trump’s side, there had been no real response to the allegations. A spokesperson simply said, “His throat was dry. There’s nothing to it.”
And in the end, this was actually a tiny event in the context of everything that has been going on around Trump lately.
Many thought that the president definitely had more pressing controversies to occupy his mind with.
Less than a month after all of this, Trump’s fitness has become a real conversation in the media.
Even Fox News, a right-leaning cable news network that supports the president, was forced to cover the matter.
Probably worried that his base will start to ask questions, Mr. Trump decided to respond to the controversy by claiming that he is a “stable genius.”
