When Donald Trump landed his position as the 45th U.S. president, some reports indicated that this was a big moment of joy for First Lady Melania Trump, who could hardly contain her excitement and was happy for her husband.
However, now, new information has come to light, with claims that things between the Trumps are far from pretty, and any tears the former model might have shed were certainly not been joyful ones.
This is not actually the first time we have heard reports that the relationship between the two Trumps could be strained, but now things are being painted in an even more unusual light.
According to Michael Wolff in his new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, the two do not even sleep in the same room at night, and Donald Trump has been quite dedicated to his privacy, going as far as to lock Melania out of his room at times.
This would probably fit with the public profile of Mr. Trump, but at the same time, claims like that should be taken with a grain of salt. Many people have an active interest in seeing the current U.S. president embarrassed, and we would not be surprised if some of these statements are exaggerated.
Still, Melania has not done much to dispel the claims, and it is possible that she actually stands behind them in one way or another, but just is not able to show it very publicly.
Whatever the situation is really like, we probably will not find out the truth for quite some time.
However, Melania’s Communications Director Stephanie Grisham did some pushback on Friday and said, “The book is a work of fiction. It is a long-form tabloid that peddles false statements and total fabrications about Mrs. Trump.”
With books like these, it is hard to know which parts are correct or misleading.
