While many people around the world are eagerly anticipating the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, it looks like the event might be marked by some unpleasant developments for the royal family.
Recent reports indicate that the tense relations with U.S. President Donald Trump might end up having unintended consequences for others, particularly former President Barack Obama and his family.
The situation apparently revolves around the fact that Trump is probably not going to be invited to the upcoming event, and this would make it inappropriate to ask the Obamas to be present by extension.
So far though, it sounds like Prince Harry has been trying everything he can think of to prevent Obama’s family from being left out, and he is insistent that they attend the wedding.
At the same time, there are some harsh predictions about the possible reaction of Mr. Trump if that ends up happening.
Trump’s actions have caused tension in various international relationships so far, and this is just another example in an already long line.
However, this one might actually have more severe repercussions, judging by the way things have been moving so far.
We do not have an official response from the royal family at this point, and it is likely that they are going to keep quiet about the situation for some time in the near future as they evaluate their options.
A source told the Sun, “Harry has made it clear he wants the Obamas at the wedding, so it is causing a lot of nervousness. Trump could react very badly if the Obamas get to a Royal wedding before he has had a chance to meet the Queen.”
Of course, we expect that they will go with the course of action that causes the least amount of friction with all sides involved, whatever that might be.
Some critics argue that Obama did not go to Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s wedding in 2011 as president, so Trump should not take this as a slight.
