Cristiano Ronaldo Wants To Retire At Real Madrid — Might Need A Pay Increase To Make It Happen

Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid Contract

More and more rumors have been spreading about the possibility of soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid, although there are still four years to go before the end of his contract to the team.

Reportedly, just a couple of days ago, he asked his lawyers to lower the exit clause in his contract, which is over $1.2 billion.

There are also speculations that Ronaldo is not satisfied with his contract and demands a pay rise at Real Madrid.

A possible reason could be the higher earnings of top players FC Barcelona’s icon Lionel Messi and PSG’s star Neymar.

With his age of 32, Ronaldo is coming near the end of his outstanding career. He has played in world-class teams like Real Madrid and Manchester United and is one of the best players of his generation.

However, after a brilliant play in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Saturday, the famous football player shared his desire to end his career with Real Madrid if possible.

He admitted that the decision for this does not depend on him, but on the club. After the perfect finishing goal from Ronaldo’s side, the victory brought up a fifth 2017 title for Real, as well as retaining the Club World Cup.

The fifth-time Ballon d’Or winner shared: “If it is possible, yes, I would like to retire in Madrid. But things do not depend on me. What depends on me is what I do on the pitch. When I say ‘possible,’ I do not make the decisions in the club. The other things do not depend on me.”

French soccer legend Zinedine Zidane, the current manager of the team, expressed his wish to the press to see Ronaldo staying with Real until the end.

According to him, the qualities of the player are too valuable to be lost, as everybody knows what he is capable of on the field.

Ronaldo now has to return to Spain to prepare for the upcoming hard match against FC Barcelona on December 23 dubbed the El Clasico Christmas.
