Donald Trump Backs Roy Moore Because Tax Cuts Are More Important Than Allegations Of Misconduct

Donald Trump Roy Moore Endorsement

Alabama U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore has been in hot water recently after he was accused of sexual misconduct by several women.

The former Alabama state judge’s name has been in the press quite often, and usually in some negative contexts, but now he has gotten the total backing of someone who could make a huge difference in the December 12 election against Democrat Doug Jones — none other than President Donald Trump.

According to a recent report, the 45th U.S. president has had a conversation with Moore in which the two talked about the current race for Alabama, and Trump expressed his support for Moore’s campaign.

This was followed by a thank-you note from the Moore campaign aimed at Trump. It looks like the two are in a very good standing right now, although admittedly, this likely does not say much to some people in the nation.

Indeed, Trump remains to be a controversial figure in U.S. politics, and it is not clear how much his support for Mr. Moore could actually help the embattled Republican candidate, but it also looks like Moore is on the same side of the political debate as Trump is, so the fact that the two share their views so actively could play a decisive role.

This is not the first time the former reality TV star has shown his support for Moore’s campaign, and he has actually been quite outspoken in this regard, claiming that it is imperative to prevent his opponent Jones from winning.

To that end, it is not entirely clear if Trump’s support is out of respect for Moore or because he wants to prevent Jones from getting to that position, but such is the nature of politics in general.

Keep in mind; Trump endorsed Luther Strange during the primary in his party.
