Nicki Minaj is breaking the Internet in a significant way thanks to a shocking photo series for Paper Magazine.
The hip-hop music star’s photo spread has sparked a lot of reactions online. Some people were impressed while others were a bit more critical.
What is certain, Minaj has scored one of the most important pop culture moments in recent memory.
The last time a celebrity grabbed so many headlines for a Paper photo shoot, it was with reality TV icon Kim Kardashian in 2014.
Kanye West‘s voluptuous wife was among the first celebrities to applaud Minaj on social media for her bold move.
The “Anaconda” artist agreed to pose for a “threesome” with herself that will have people talking for years. The idea was covered under the banner “Minaj a Trois: Break the Internet.”
The pictures also got some other very interesting fans. Minaj’s rumored boyfriend, “Ether” rapper Nas, could not hold back and shared his appreciation on social media.
The “Moment 4 Life” femcee’s ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, also got in this and wrote in the comment section: “Can we please figure something out. These are the kind of pictures I always wanted you to take for me. Wow.”
“Let Me Blow Ya Mind” rapper Eve, who has recently joined CBS’ The Talk, is not a big fan of Minaj’s feature.
She shared on Wednesday’s episode: “I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on Barbershop… she is a nice person, she is an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her… but as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that… I think in this climate, it is not good. I think every artist has a right to express themselves however they want to express themselves, and I respect that as well. For me personally, as I started coming up in the business, I started realizing that young girls were looking up to me and younger people were looking up to me, and that, not that you want to be a role model, but it becomes what you become, it is what you are.”
It seems unlikely that Minaj will be engaging her haters.
